Paleo Diet And Bison Meat
The Paleo diet is based on the principle of eating a nutritious diet that resembles what people in the Paleolithic era ate. The logic is that by getting rid of dairy products, processed foods and refined sugars, one can improve their health significantly. The diet is focused on reducing carbohydrate consumption while raising the intake of minerals, proteins, antioxidants and Omega 3's.
This diet is designed around the idea that people aren't meant to digest the foods commonly consumed in the modern era. Instead, one should eat the foods that were around during the evolution of Homo Sapiens. Due to the evolutionary changes in the genetic makeup, people need to define the foods that are acceptable.
Evidence of these adaptations is evident in various cuisines around the world. For instance, people in Far Eastern cultures eat foods that include lots of fish, rice, plants and meat. Dairy products and bread are rare in such areas. This is because people in these areas are mostly lactose intolerant. While people in other parts of the world have evolved to tolerate dairy, this is still ongoing in other places.
As for grains, agriculture can be traced back to around 10 millennia ago. This means that the evolutionary change to enable people to eat grains is still ongoing. The Paleolithic era is thus pre-agriculture. Grain consumption is therefore not on the Paleo diet. The diet is believed to eliminate modern lifestyle-related diseases such as cardiovascular illnesses, obesity and type 2 diabetes.
The diet also avoids foods that could cause systematic inflammation which wrecks the gut and derails the body's natural metabolic process. One should abstain from gluten-containing grains, sugar and legumes. Lab-produced foods normally found in the middle isles of grocery stores should also be avoided.
Paleo Diet Bison Meat
Chemists, physicians and nutritionists are starting to warm up to the idea of ancestral nutrition due to its benefits. People who adopt a Paleo diet report significant improvements in their energy levels, body composition and general health. More importantly, there's evidence to suggest that such people are reducing their susceptibility to disorders associated with conventional diets.
